This week my best friend's husband passed away. I imagine that he is now enjoying a pain free existence. He was a wonderful person who always made me feel important. I am thinking that he passed through this beautiful door, and is now in a place of eternal happiness. I know that wherever he is he is listening to others and making them happy. I hope my friend sees this door and knows that she is always in my thoughts.

Meet Franklin. He is a Peruvian long haired guinea pig. He was given to us by our favorite checker (Tony) at Trader Joe's.  He is quite unique because of his massive amounts of hair. I cut the front part every month. He is a great pet and eats non-stop. Of course he is a pig after all...

I was happy with how these small nesting bowls turned out. The largest one is about 4.5" in diameter. I am thinking of making some small matching bowls with lids, ones that can be used for chutneys or other condiments. I am thinking of dark, rich glazes-- to match the wonderful taste of Indian food.

Here is one of my favorite recipes. If you want to make something easy and delicious then this is the dish for you. The noodles are actually green bean threads. They become clear and cellophane like at the end of cooking. There is a small amount of pork (you can make it vegetarian too if you want) along with garlic and ginger to complete the masterpiece. I can send the recipe in English upon request.

A peek at the studionn chops.

I made these 2 miniature bowls for my friend in Taiwan (Huei Ling). She always sends me wonderful e-mails and foreign presents. I am still undecided about the color.

The studio is quiet now, all the projects have been sold or gifted. Time to start on new ideas with new energy. I prefer the earthy functional pieces and the surprising unique pieces such as this window ornament that I look at every day.

Thought you might enjoy a beautiful picture of Portland during our most recent snow storm. We enjoyed several days of cold weather and the snow was with us for a week or so. Some activities came to a complete standstill. Things are back to normal now, lots of rain and wind.
